Workshops Saturday, March 18
Fusion Technique with Fun Layering (2hrs) - $50 in advance ($55 at the door)
Starting with a solid base in belly dance, we will add a variety of layering techniques. In this workshop, dancers can break out of the box of their day-to-day training, strengthen their technical foundations, and get exposure to some novel concepts.
Variations - (3hrs) - $70 in advance ($75 at the door) Advanced Level
This piece combines several sorts of technique: Contemporary, Jazz, a bit of Ballet and HipHop, and belly dance, of course! Movements are built upon interactions with various musical elements. Dancers will learn how to deftly switch focus between musical layers and layer their own experiences in to the expression of the choreographic narrative - Just DANCE through your own story!
Workshop Sunday, March 19
Jazzy Fusion Technique (3hrs) - $70 in advance ($75 at the door)
This workshop will start with Jazz technique (which meshes with belly dance beautifully!). Jazz here doesn't just mean Broadway Jazz- we'll be examining the breadth of the genre and dipping into a bit of ballet technique as well. While emphasizing awareness of body lines, this workshop will also approach methods for integrating Jazz movements into belly dance.
